Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 15, 2025 | Last Updated: January 15, 2025

At BeamFluxCurrent, we take your privacy seriously. This isn't just legal talk—we actually mean it. When you trust us with your information while exploring blockchain programming education, we handle that data with care and transparency.

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've written this in plain language because privacy policies shouldn't require a law degree to understand.

Our operations are based in South Korea, and we comply with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) along with international data protection standards. If something here seems unclear, reach out. We're happy to explain.

Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to run our educational platform effectively. Here's what that looks like in practice:

Contact Information

Name, email address, phone number, and physical address when you register for courses or request information about our blockchain programming programs.

Account Data

Username, password (encrypted), learning preferences, and course progress tracking to personalize your educational experience.

Technical Information

IP address, browser type, device information, and usage patterns to improve platform performance and security.

Educational Records

Course enrollments, completion status, assignment submissions, and assessment results to track your learning journey.

Information You Provide Directly

Most of what we collect comes directly from you. When you fill out forms, create an account, or communicate with our team, you're choosing to share specific details. We don't collect anything sneaky in the background—what you see is what we get.

Automatically Collected Data

Like most websites, we automatically gather some technical information. This includes things like your IP address and what pages you visit. We use this to understand how people interact with our platform and where we can make improvements. It's not about tracking you personally—it's about making the site work better.

How We Use Your Information

We're not in the business of selling your data or using it for random marketing schemes. Here's what we actually do with it:

  • Deliver course content and manage your enrollment in blockchain programming courses
  • Send you important updates about courses, schedule changes, or platform maintenance
  • Respond to your questions and provide technical support when things go wrong
  • Improve our educational materials based on how students actually learn
  • Process payments securely when you enroll in paid programs
  • Maintain security and prevent fraudulent activity on our platform
  • Comply with legal obligations under South Korean law

Marketing Communications

We may send you emails about new courses or upcoming programs, but only if you've agreed to receive them. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Use it anytime—we won't take it personally.

We don't share your email with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your inbox is already crowded enough.

Legal Basis for Processing (PIPA Compliance)

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We're selective about who gets access to your information. We don't sell data, and we don't hand it over without good reason.

Service Providers We Work With

  • Payment processors who handle transactions securely (they only see what they need for billing)
  • Cloud hosting services that store our platform data in secure servers
  • Email service providers for course notifications and important updates
  • Analytics tools that help us understand how the platform is used (anonymized data only)

All these third parties sign agreements requiring them to protect your data and use it only for the specific services they provide us. We check that they meet security standards before working with them.

When We Must Share Information

Sometimes we're legally required to share data—for example, if there's a court order or we need to comply with South Korean regulations. We'll only share what's legally required and nothing more.

Your Rights Under PIPA

South Korean law gives you strong rights over your personal information. Here's what you can do and how to do it:

Access Your Data

You can request a copy of all the personal information we hold about you. We'll provide it in a readable format within 10 business days. Just email us at contact@beamfluxcurrent.com with "Data Access Request" in the subject line.

Correct Inaccurate Information

If something we have on file is wrong, let us know. You can update most information directly in your account settings. For anything else, contact us and we'll fix it promptly.

Delete Your Data

You can request deletion of your account and associated data. Keep in mind we may need to retain certain records for legal or administrative purposes (like financial records), but we'll delete everything we're not legally required to keep.

Withdraw Consent

You gave consent for us to process your data, and you can take it back anytime. This won't affect any processing that happened before you withdrew consent, but we'll stop going forward.

Object to Processing

If you believe we're processing your data in a way you didn't agree to, you have the right to object. We'll review your concern and either stop the processing or explain why we believe it's necessary.

Data Portability

Want to take your data to another platform? You can request a copy in a machine-readable format. This applies to data you've provided directly and that we process based on your consent or contract.

Data Security Measures

We take security seriously because blockchain education involves trust, and that starts with protecting your information.

Technical Safeguards

  • All data transmission uses TLS encryption (that's the lock icon you see in your browser)
  • Passwords are hashed and salted—we literally cannot see your actual password
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments by third-party experts
  • Access controls that limit who on our team can view personal information
  • Automated backups stored in geographically separate locations

Physical and Administrative Controls

Our servers are hosted in secure data centers with restricted physical access. Our team receives regular training on data protection practices. We have incident response procedures ready if something goes wrong.

That said, no system is perfectly secure. We do our best, but you should also practice good security habits—use strong passwords, don't share login credentials, and be cautious about phishing attempts.

Data Retention

We don't keep your information forever. Here's how long we typically retain different types of data:

Active Course Data

Stored for the duration of your enrollment plus three years afterward to provide transcripts and verify completion.

Account Information

Retained while your account is active, then for one year after closure unless you request earlier deletion.

Financial Records

Kept for five years as required by South Korean tax and business record-keeping regulations.

Marketing Communications

Stored until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days except for records needed to prove compliance with unsubscribe requests.

Technical Logs

Automatically deleted after 90 days unless needed for security investigations or legal requirements.

When retention periods expire, we securely delete or anonymize your information. Deletion is permanent—we use methods that make recovery impossible.

International Data Transfers

Our primary operations and servers are in South Korea. If you're accessing our platform from outside South Korea, your data will be transferred here and processed under South Korean law.

South Korea has adequate data protection standards recognized internationally. If we ever work with service providers in other countries, we ensure they meet equivalent security and privacy standards through contractual agreements.

By using our platform, you consent to this transfer. If you're uncomfortable with this, unfortunately we may not be the right fit for your educational needs.

Children's Privacy

Our courses are designed for adults and professionals. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 14 years old. If you're a parent and discover your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.

For users between 14 and 18 years old, we require parental consent before enrollment in our programs. We take this requirement seriously.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies—small text files stored on your device—to make the platform work properly and remember your preferences.

Essential Cookies

These are necessary for basic platform functionality. They remember that you're logged in and keep your session secure. You can't opt out of these because the platform wouldn't work without them.

Analytics Cookies

We use these to understand how people use our site—which pages are popular, where people get stuck, and how we can improve. The data is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally. You can disable these in your browser settings if you prefer.

Preference Cookies

These remember your choices like language preferences or display settings. They're helpful but not essential—disable them if you want.

We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels for marketing purposes. What you do on our platform stays on our platform.

Changes to This Policy

Privacy regulations change, and our practices may need to adapt. When we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised effective date.

For minor changes, the updated policy takes effect immediately. For significant changes that affect how we use your data, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. This gives you time to review them and decide if you want to continue using our services.

We recommend checking this page occasionally. The date at the top shows when we last made changes.

Complaints and Regulatory Contact

If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, please contact us first. We'll investigate and work to resolve any issues.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC). Their contact information:

  • Phone: 1833-6972 (Korean language support)
